The problem is we don't have enough motor vehicles.
Look at the cars around you: a majority are four to six-passenger vehicles with one person in them.
If we had an all-weather vehicle that would haul one person and two bags of groceries and that's all, we could use a lot less gas.
People who want more capacity, for instance to take a date to dinner or kids to school, or get three or more bags of groceries at a time, would need to get a good old-fashioned car too.
No magic, no techno-wizardry, start building them today and the average mpg doubles. Congestion gets better because the average vehicle would have a much smaller footprint. Car makers get a whole new market.What's not to like?
